Visitors

My niece, nephew, brother and his girlfriend arrived for a two week visit on Sunday. First hours they were in town we hit the beach and the pool. Yesterday we did the Jerusalem old city tour. Tonight they tried surfing.











Before they came and when momma wan't home I gave Everett another cool haircut with a Mohawk outline down the back. I dig cutting his hair. Must be out of envy that he has so much. Be sure that he digs the hair do too, no crying like after a momma haircut.


Tomorrow we are off to the Red Sea and stay in Egypt for a few nights. One of the top tropical reef diving spots in the world, and equally great to snorkel. Bummer, I wanted so bad to snorkel but can’t dive because two weeks ago I had a nasty bike crash. Messed up my face and a hole through my lower lip to my mouth that took a whole bunch of stitches inside and out to close. I also broke my left hand 5th metacarpal, it couldn’t be set and took 5 days (4 in the hospital, overnight stays) of waiting to finally get surgery to pin it together. I didnt need to be there but its how its done in Israel. Got out of the hospital only a few hours before my brother arrived. Now I need a cast for three weeks to let it set. I fell off the mountain bike, my own fault, over the bars and plowed the dirt/rock with my face. I’m healing jut fine. Its an inconvenience, including one handed slow typing and I'm not as helpful with the kids.

Mornings

The other Friday everyone slept in. First up was Ella and we did some numbers outside. Then later some cereal for breakfast. Hanna is usually the last one to sleep and then the last one out of bed.







After breakfast Everett escaped mid diaper change. He really doesn't like wearing them these days and runs away at his first opening. I would consider naked scootering quite dangerous after the way he piled in last weekend.









On occasion I get a pre work surf in if the waves get good like this past Wed. It warranted a 5:30-7:00am session. I then had to drive to work but I was still in by 8. I was the first guy in the water, its nice to go early and avoid the crowds. By time the weekend came it was back to flat water.






Ella also got the rest of her Birthday celebration over the weekend. A pinata of carbon fiber layup instead of newspaper. After the kids all had 3-4 turns Anita took a whack at it. Then we did Ella's second cake.

Ella is 5 Today!

Woooo Hoooo! We opened the pool on Ella's 5th birthday. It was hot this morning and water felt good. Kids were shivering by time we got after our 45 min of swimming. Before swimming Ella got all dressed up for jump rope.








The difference in the sexes becomes visible at a young age. I can’t figure it out but Ella and Hanna are so happy to get clothes! I was then and still am now disappointed if the toys don’t out number the clothing in gift count. Think about it mom and dad are going to buy you new clothes regardless at some point. Use your birthday to get toys, but girls, they want more clothes.





Poor Everett missed out on the cake. He had a melt down when he was taken from the pool blue and shivering. It was time for his nap.
