I took the girls to the beach to crash Bob-D's family reunion. OK we were invited out. The weather wasn't so good and Momma and Everett stayed home. We had a good day playing regardless of weather.

We went raspberry picking yesterday. All you can eat for free and $1/lb. Hanna picked the ripest ones of all from the ground and I think she liked hers juiced.

Everett Arthur Doornbos

Everett's great, great grandpa was named Chester Arthur Doornbos after Chester Alan Arthur the 21st President of the US. Then there is Chester Arthur Doornbos Jr. Grandpa's name is Dennis Arthur and I (daddy) am Daniel Arthur. Great Great Grandpa Chet was one of 14 siblings in a small single room Kansas farm house. I wonder if naming is any easier by time you get to 14? For us Ella was the easiest to name with the exception of Everett's middle name for the above reason.

Follow the initials... CAD, CAD, DAD, DAD, EAD. I'm a geek for noticing, but not a total geek because we didn't do the alphabetical continuation deliberately.

Momma and Everett came home last night and all are well.

MAZAL TOV!!! It's A Boy!!!

What a great day, and the surprise of waiting to know boy or girl was so worth it! Momma is doing great. Did you check his head of hair? WOW! That comes from Momma's side of the family. No name yet. He was wiggling and squirming his way out and crying from the start. 20.5 in and 8.5 lbs. Born around 6:20pm on 7/18 and we got his sisters over to make introductions as well. No name yet, maybe tomorrow.

Reminder: Delivery Dates are estimates

Much to Anita's chagrin the delivery date, Saturday the 14th, came and nothing was happening. We decided to go to the beach. Daddy bought a surfboard and wet suit so we went to play. It was a great day for all. Ella even road a couple of waves! Water temp was up and air temp was down on the beach. No idea when this baby will join us, hopefully soon!

Hospitals and Having a Baby

Yup, we have a baby but it is still in Anita's belly. The last 3 days have been record heat, 102, with no AC. Do you think that sounds like fun? Anita votes no fun! But we are spending a lot of time in the pool.

Now the hospital part. Not for Anita or baby arrival. Not for a daddy bicycle crash. Not for an Ella crash and burn. Hanna couldn't breath, she has pneumonia. She got an Albuterol treatment to breath and some antibiotics. She's a champ and just plays and plays and plays. It did keep us at the hospital till midnight.

But if you want babies these two are our new nieces, Janja and Tena. Thanks to aunt J for sending us a bunch of pics!

Here is Jared's new bike, the sledgehammer. This was 4-5 years in the waiting. Made by old childhood friend Adam Garley who is now in Texas. Adam also did an episode of Build or Bust.

Swimming and Waiting

Swimming, Ice cream, Popsicles and fresh fruit sure seam like summer to the girls and I. We are still in wait for baby number 3. Its going to be a hot week according to the forecast, we might have to move into the downstairs bedroom, it's the coolest. 85 deg outside means another 10-15 deg hotter on the 3rd floor where we have our two bedrooms.

I've been track racing the last few days with the Alpenrose Classic. Alti showed up from San Jose in full sparkle. He is going to send me some pictures of the races. I had a safe weekend of racing. I did a points race qualifier, the 10 mile and another points race. It was a good experience to go up against a few pros even though I had nothing for them...

Happy 4th of July! (no baby yet)

Happy 4th everyone. We are getting ready for the baby and playing close to home. Momma is worn out these days. We are getting things ready around here. That means we washed the car seat liner and belts and looked at getting the pack-n-play out for baby three's crib. Anita started to pack the hospital bag. We also have a list of names, that was a big item. Luckily for us we have also managed to line up a few baby sitters for the delivery time.

Hanna is a real talker these days. She understands a lot and runs around with her sister screaming, "Ga Ga!" And then laughs and laughs. She answers every question you ask her with, "no" or "NO!" But she often means yes so its funny. She also has three molars that seemed to come in one day, she was in a bad mood for that.

Last thing we did the other week before grandma and grandpa left was visit Mt St. Helens. Check out the volcano cam. It is a spectacular view and worth the drive to see in real life. Its amazing the amount of land that moved when it blew. Its still an active volcano today read about it at their web site.
